Hi.
So, apparently the Windows 8 mail client, or app or whatever, doesn't support pop3 email. My att.net account uses this. What app would yall recommend? I saw some in the app store but they all said no under accessibility.
Thanks!

No, the mail app in windows 8 even if it supported pop is not accessible.
I use Microsoft Outlook.
Office 2013 can be had for a $10 per month subscription.
Other than that, whatever you used before will work on Windows 8.
Remember, it can support all popular programs windows 7 does.

if windows live mail supports pop, if you still have the installer for WLM, you could use that. if not get it from ninite.com

Oh yeah, I suppose I could just install my copy of Office 07 that was on my other computer. Do yall know if I have to deactivate it or anything so I don't get popped for having it installed on too many machines? Wouldn't want to piss off the Microsoft dioty. lol
I have been hesitant to use it on this machine because I've had allot of problems with Outlook crashing on my desktop. There's nothing scarier than having a brand new machine running beautifully and then installing stuff on it. lol I know, I need to live a little.
Wonder if I could convince the hubs to go with the subscription version of office. I'm assuming it's $10 per computer? I'd like to get it on all 3.
How well does 13 work with Jaws? I'm assuming it must work ok or you wouldn't recommend it. lol

i'm pretty sure the subscription for 2013 is for 5 computers.
past that, ask wayne.

Yes, for 10 you can install it on 5 computers, so a good deal.
Office 07 will run fine with Windows 8 as well, and for some reason, Microsoft was not concerned about giving authorization.
I had a copy or 2010 and it installed just fine. I called to ask this exact question, and a rep told me not to worry about it to much, just install it.
I like the 2013 however. I'd buy a copy of office about every 2 years lately, so the 10 is about the same over 2 years, plus your copy is always current no matter what version they are offering.

I use windows live mail still. It's the most accessible email client out there! I'll continue to use it until it stops working, which I hope It never does.

Yeah, but I want to use my att.net email address. I guess I could try to figure out how to link it to the live.com or outlook.com account like they recommend but yuck.

Actually, maybe not. My husband just brought up a good point. The last time I had 3 devices checking the same email address, stuff kept getting lost. I think I'll just check the email using the website on this computer, leave outlook as the main receptical on the desktop and I also have that address going to my IPhone. If I wanted to, I could just forward them to my live.com address. There, problem solved.

why dont you use Imap on all devices ?
skip Pop3 and use Imap instead. This way no matter which device you go to, all your mail will be exactly the same.
no more wondering which devices which messages is on.
i have it this way on my laptop, desktop and PAC mate (though i rarely use the PAC Mate, i do have the mail set up on there.)

Isn't that controlled by my ISP? Shows how little I know about it.

Another thing in your main emal account, you have to remember to set it so that it leaves mail on the server until you delete it if you don't want it lost.
When you read it on a device, if you don't save it, it delets.
When it comes to that device if not set to leave it on the server it leaves.
John's way works as well. I don't know much about your mail service, but it can be setup so it works fine, even if you send it to your live account.

johns way works very well.
if i dont delete it, it isn't deleted.
if i do delete it, i better hope it wasn't an accident. lol causeits gone forever.
it'll show up on all devices exactly the same as i said before.
